OSBI Public Information Manager Hunter McKee told 2 News an Osage Nation police officer responded for service at the Osage Hotel around 5 a.m. Tuesday morning. They said a man drove off in his blue truck, pulling the officer with him as the officer tried talking to him. McKee said a bystander saw what was going on and shot and killed the driver. The officer is expected to be okay.

Dr. Iskandar Chaban alleges Packer and Crown Resorts have failed to pay legal fees stemming from a settlement agreement last year, struck a day before the assault case was to go to trial. Iskandar Chaban sued in 2020, alleging Packer verbally abused him, pushed him in the chest, and threatened to sack him. That’s after the security guard failed to recognize Packer, mistaking him for an intoxicated patron. Packer and Crown agreed to settle for $100K, plus Chaban’s legal costs, on a “no admissions basis.” Chaban claims he incurred $185K in lawyers’ fees and an additional $77K in costs pursuing the lawsuit, none of which have been paid.

A luxury resort and hotel in Cornwall has been slammed by health inspectors. Hustyns Resort in St Breock Downs, a few miles from the A39 and A30 and 11 miles east of Padstow and three miles south of Wadebridge, is a 37-bedroom hotel set amongst rolling green fields and undisturbed woodland. It was given a zero hygiene rating by the Food Standards Agency in partnership with Cornwall Council. It is the worst rating possible which goes from zero to five. The hotel resort, which was put on the market at the beginning of the year, has been told that hygienic food handling and food safety management require a major improvement.
